Address Book & Sync-Entourage mismatch?

I am trying to copy my Address Book from my iMac to my Powerbook. This seems to work by copying the AddressBook.data file onto the desktop of one computer, networking with the other, deleting the data file from the second and then inserting the copied file. However, when I run Sync-Entourage on the second, (attempting to also update Entourage) none of the new listings in Address Book come up in my Entourage Address book. very frustrating, any suggestions?
