When I added contacts in my address book on my computer I ticked the "company" button... now I want to change ALL my contacts in the address book at once to not be known as "company".... I have 1600 contacts and do not want to do them one at a time!

You might use the Help feature of Address Book:
Address Book includes AppleScript terms for automating tasks with scripts. You can use scripts to create, modify, or read the contacts and groups in your address book. To see the Address Book terms and write scripts, you can use Script Editor, included with Mac OS X.

Or even easier:

Select all contacts.

Choose Card -> Mark as a Person. (Or, hit Command-\ on the keyboard.)

Done.
