How did my new macbook pro get my full name,address info and telephone #?

I don't remember it asking me this when I did a clean install.


I see it in system preference, Accounts, Address Book Card.
 
Thats weird

I don;t rememeber it asking for my address and telephone number.
 
Were you connected to the internet and did you buy the computer (as opposed to getting it as a gift someone else purchased)? I had the same thing happen this weekend; I suspect that it is pulled from Apple's system, which has that info on the buyer.

Yep I went into the Apple store nearby and bought a brand new macbook pro

First thing I did was a clean install.

Yes I been on the internet.

So apple is some how getting the info of this computer and knows who bought it and puts that info in the address book?

So if I delete the info from the address book, it will come back again?

I like privacy about info like that just showing up on the address book without me entering it myself.
 
Just a guess, but if you were connected to the internet when you were setting it up, that would explain your--and my--mysteries. However, I would be surprised if it would pop up again if you delete it now. I it is probably a "convenience" of the set-up process.
 
in Setup Assistant on you first boot you have to enter a telephone number plus other info such as email address and home address otherwise it wont let your go to the next step.

odd, I don't remember it asking me about telephone# and home address

I think it ask for full name and email address only. on Full name I just put my first nick name only.

After setup assistant was done. It show in address book my full name, home address and phone number.

im pretty sure the Setup Assistant doesnt let you continue if you havent entered all the information next to the red arrows.
