Hey, I've recently enrolled at University, and been allowed to connect my Macbook over the network using VPN (PPTP) / Ethernet Connection.

At home, Adium worked a charm over my homeWi-Fi network, so I know the settings are fine. However, at University this no longer works, I would assume due to the VPN connection. Their official position is that while they do not support MSN or Skype (which works like a charm just for reference) they allow students to use it, but cannot help with problems. So currently I am stuck using Meebo, which works, but is far less elegant. A few days ago my friends on Windows machines were able to connect to MSN, but recently have been stopped for no apparent reason.

My question is, can anybody help me? I'm fairly technically competent, but it's impossible to solve this by myself, none of the ports I know that work with MSN and AIM work over the VPN.

Other notes are -
Error messages presented by Adium -

AIM(Error)
Could not connect to authentication server.
Socket is not connected.

(MSN) Error
Connection Error from communication server.
Unable to connect.

Both AIM/ADIUM/iCHAT/WINDOWS MESSENGER have been used (unsucessfully) to try and connect.
I have enable the option *send all traffic over VPN* as well as setting the VPN connection to the top of the port configuration.

Just for reference, under Windows/Boot Camp, Windows Live Messenger connected, however Pidgin/GAIM refused to either.

Thanks for any help you could give me.
