Adium Profile wont appear as intended

My font and background won't show up the way i intend them to after editing my personal info in adium pref's.

whats the deal here? can someone help me please? all i'm trying to do is have a bold outline yellow font with an orange background

but i end up getting just bold yellow font and the orange background is only backgrounded where the font is and not covering the entire profile.

can anyone tell me why my fonts/profile in my adium pref's will not display as such when others view my profile thru adium client?
