Adjust iPad Playback Volume from Apple Watch

When I am playing some audio (Podcast) from an iPad (via Airpods) can I adjust the volume with the Apple Watch crown? How?

You can’t.

Does the "Now Playing" app work? as long as they're on the same wifi network? I dunno
