Adjust time/date automatically fails

After installing all the new updates available today and restarting, my date/time has been acting up. It wants to set the date to Dec 31, 2000 and a random time. I then unchecked the "set date/time automatically" box in system preferences and entered the time and date myself. I've tried several times to have it set automatically afterwards, but to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem or does someone know how to fix it?!
