IMG_1543.JPG Hi!

I have a 3 cm wide stripe of broken monitor on the left side of my laptop screen. Is there som software or some terminal-code to adjust the screen to still get out the most of the still working area of the screen?

This bugs me off and i feel like there should be a possible solution for this.

Of course there is a solution..... Get the screen fixed.

As others stated your best bet is to fix the display.

You might be able to do something along the lines of what you want using SwithResX but my guess is this means you will also lose the equal amount of space on the left side of the display as well. It also will be very finicky as your talking about running OS X in a non-standard way. It may also not preserve the resolution independence feature of OS X that makes things readable on retina displays.
