Ok, everybody is familiar with The Finder, right?

I am a little bit frustrated with the constant stretching and pulling of columns wider just to be able to see file names. Especially in the "columns view".

It's like I will fix the width of the columns the way I like it......then when I come back to "The Finder" again I have to start working on my column widths again.

How do I save my Finder preferences, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel every time?

Finder isn't good at saving preferences. Just one of the many ways it could be improved.

Hold down option when you click / drag the column. this will adjust all, and keep them the same for all windows, even after a restart. Only thing it they will all be the same width, will not work for different width columns
