Hi,
Apple genius asked me to type in my admin password on my Macbook 2015 as I handed it in for a warranty repair for battery and possibly logic board. Why do they need you to type in your login and password on an ipad? The password was not hidden. I had changed it to a long password I have never used before.
Is this customary? I did the best I could to remove personal data before arriving at the store: logged off icloud, deleted mail databases, unlinked dropbox and deleted the local folder, deleted documents/pictures/downloads folder etc.
I have filevault 2 enabled and never like to give physical access to anyone.
Do I need to be worried?
I took a Carbon Copy Cloner disc image before going to the apple store. I can reinstall the disk image. I am just wondering if it is customary to hand over your password during a repair.
thanks.
