My girl friend just got a new MacBook last week and it is working great. There is one slight problem however...

When she is using the machine and she wants to 'trash' something it says that it will be deleted straight away (the only other time I have seen this is when someone is using the computer without administrative privileges). Then when she tries to delete a log file after a software update it says she doesn't have the necessary privileges?

I have checked the user profiles as she is the only user and she is set as an administrator and there is only here home folder under 'users'.

Has anyone else had this problem and how do you fix it?

Thanks.

Anyone?

This is starting to get a real problem. Now it won't let me delete anything!

I had this same issue when i accidentally deleted the .Trash Folder (~/.Trash). Check that it is still present, or you could try reapplying the lastest combo update.
