Administrative Rights for Software to Run?

I have installed Smultron and all was fine until one day when I clicked to open a file, the screen comes up for about 5 seconds and then the application quits unexpectedly.

I logged in as root and all was fine.

Is there something wrong with my rights that has got corrupted? I uninstalled Smultron with AppZapper and reinstalled it and I get the same problems.

It's probably not a rights issue, but a corrupted file issue.

It's also likely that AppZapper missed something.

Remove everything and then seek out anything that might be related to that application in your ~/Library folder.

Check Caches, Application Support, Preferences, etc..
