Adobe Acrobat X pro help

I purchased adobe acrobat X pro and an HP Officejet 6500a Plus to scan files like in this thread Now I launch Acrobat and select file-->create--> PDF from scanner and I get this. Why is it that Acrobat cannot see my scanner? I can scan files using the HP software but it doesn't do everything I'd like to do.
