Hello guys,

I've just purchased a macbook pro, I'm pretty new to macs but I know my way around them to a certain extent. Anyway I've got hold of a copy of adobe CS4 master collection and I began to install it, I entered my serial and it seemed fine; started up photoshop to see if it worked - and it did so I closed it and then reopened it later on in the day and it asked me for a serial number again so I put my serial in and it rejected it.

At this point I was very confused as to why it wasn't working, so I decided to reinstall the whole collection in case I missed something. Thinking this program was like alot of the other programs on mac in the sense that to delete them you just drag them into the trash can and they're 'gone forever' anyway doing this at the time I didn't realize that it came with an uninstaller, but by this time it was too late. I tried reinstalling the collection again but it gave me this error...

Critical errors were found in setup for Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection:
undefined
The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media
Please see the Setup log file for details. Click Quit to exit Setup.

Now by this time I was thinking that I'd better delete the old files manually, so I've traced where the adobe files would be and deleted them from the library and other places... Anyway now I sorta regret doing that because I feel as if I've just ****ed everything up. I've tried using the app zapper thing to remove the adobe files but its acting as if they aren't installed, I've also used the adobe cs4 cleaner thing too which again acted as if the collection was not installed.

So right now, I'm looking for someone who knows what they're doing to point me in the right direction, I feel like a complete dick but there must be some others like me out there! :p

I did think of reinstalling mac os x leopard but I thought this could be a last resort.

Please help me I'm a dick in need...

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply I've already been in touch with adobe and they've said to use their cs4 patch program, but I've done this and to no avail. This is why I decided to post my problem online because I'd be more likey to get more help...

If this didn't work shouldn't you call them again? Like the previous poster said it's a $2500 program! Their customer service/technical issues department shouldn't feel hassled by you calling them. Especially when you spent $2500 on their software.

You're one of the people paying their pay cheque and on top of that I'm sure you're not the only one who has an issue like this.
