What to do? Upgrade ($950 from CS4), buy full version ($638-1800) or go to the Cloud ($30/month 'special' year one...then...?)??

Adobe, in their infinite wisdom, are rendering my version of CS4 non upgradable as of New Years Eve - woo hoo!! Therefore it is pay them $950 to 'upgrade or die basically.' I am not really happy with this sudden deadline and not sold on their new Cloud version either, although it appear to have a reasonable value proposition.

In researching this, I found resellers offering the full design premium package, DVD and key, for as little as $620, vs Adobe at $1800ish. (see below) A number of other sellers also offer the package for the $700 range. Of course no comment when asking Adobe about this.

Further, the sellers claim that unlike Adobe's consumer CS4 DP, these packages allow two concurrent users - which would be awesome - ergo, I could be on PS and someone else in the studio on In Design or Dreamweaver concurrently

However, if a deal is too good to be true it usually is....

I posted a reply from one of the vendors below stating their case.

Leximart is another one of those offering the deal $639

Anyone out there know the truth from the fiction on this?

Dear Customer,

All our products are 100% genuine, we sell Adobe Volume License Products,
and we work with Adobe Solution Partner.
We purchase our Adobe products in very large volume and therefore we get very large volume discounts.
To put in perspective; It would be like if a large company buying 10,000 units of something
compared to 1 consumer buying 1 unit, obviously the price difference and saving per unit
for this large company would be enormous.
This is how we are able to get these low prices and in turn pass on the savings to you, the customer.

Please let us know if you have any other questions,
