Adobe Encore CS3 won't open in Leopard

I just got the Adobe Production Premium CS3 collection in the mail and have just sat for the last hour and a half while it installed, plus the time it took to install all the updates. But even with these "leopard compatibility" updates, I can't get Adobe Encore to even launch. It gets to "initializing library" on the splash screen and then hangs with the beach ball. I've tried adjusting system settings with no results. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've searched everywhere for someone who may have posted the same problem but with no luck. I'd rather not go through another hour-long re-install if it's not going to make a difference.
