Adobe Flash player not responding

Hi everyone!

First sorry for my english, I'm not a native speaker.

For some time now, I've been unable to watch videos (youtube, vimeo, daily motion etc) or even listen to online music or online radio.

I have 2 browsers Chrome and Safari.
On Chrome, videos play the first 3 seconds then randomly stop.
On Safari, it says I have a missing plug-in. It recommends I should get adobe flash player but when I go to download it, it says it's not recognised.

I'm very frustrated and looking for an answer. I'm not computer savvy at all but desperately need help.
