Are there any great alternatives for 2D animation and animated drawing, that are was widely used, supported, and just industry standard as CC?

EDIT: Well, I kind of answered my own question. Found out about Toon Boom and it appears to fit the bill outstandingly.


Still curious if there are others out there.

I just saw this post after nearly a year...

Hype has come a long way in a short time. It's much easier to use than Flash (especially for interactivity) and has just as much power if you know some JavaScript. Its 2D animation capabilities are pretty good. I wish that it handled audio a bit better. (For instance, I'd like to see the waveforms in the timeline.) But even with that omission, it's not bad:
