Adobe Flashplayer Desktop Shortcut

I went through the Adobe website to download the flash player since YouTube wouldn't work due to a missing plugin.

I noticed a new shortcut for it on my desktop, and was wondering if that normally happens?

You sure that's not just the mounted disk image that contains the installer program?

It may be? It's just an icon that stayed on the desktop past the installation process.

Drag it to the trash. If the trash icon changes to an eject symbol, it was the disk image. If not, it was a file.
