Adobe Illustrator 10 install help on Mac Pro

Hello and help!

I use to have a G4 and had no trouble installing this software. Now I am trying to install it on an Intel Mac Pro running OS 10.4.11. It keeps crashing at install and the report reads,
Exception : EX_BAD_ACCESS (0X001)
CODES: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0X002 at 0X0000003d)

I am sorry but this is WAY over my head. Does anyone have any suggestions in (Rookie speak)?
