Adobe Illustrator CS5 not enough memory on 2011 MBP problem

I am trying to rotate a shape that use Clipping Mask on to put some designs in it. Whenever i click the "preview" button in the "rotate" menu, i get a error that says i dont have enough memory to complete the task. I have 8gb of memory in there so im 99% sure its not because i dont have enough memory. I have updated to 15.0.2 that was supposed to fix the problem but no dice. Has anyone ran into and fixed this problem?

16GB Ram, Intel 7, Win 7,

Did anyone reply to you or did you eventually come across a solution?
