Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 update not working

I recently bought one of the new Powermacs and installed Photoshop 7. I tried to update the program to 7.0.1 which takes advantage of the G5 processor, but it comes up an says that the update only works on computers equipped with a G5 processor and doesn't let me install (meaning it doesn't think that the computer has a G5 processor). Does it not recognize the dual core processor? Is there a work-around? Thanks.
