My understanding is that Photoshop Elements 4.0 will run on Intel based Macs, but it's not a native application. Basically the current 4.0 version is designed for the older PowerPC Macs.

I want to purchase Elements, but I'm not going buy a graphics application unless it runs native. I've heard that Elements 5.0 for the Mac will run native on Intel Macs.

Does anyone out there know when Adobe will be releasing Photoshop Elements 5.0 for Mac OS X?

I've had elements 4 now for roughly 2 months and to be fair your wouldn't have a clue its not native, everything runs smoothly and processes very quickly.
Im running it on a macbook pro 2.33, whether that makes a difference or not im not sure, but i myself was concerned before buying it and now dno't see the need for a newer version. Hope this helps

Adobe has already announced Photoshop Elements 6.0 but the Mac version will be available in 2008.
