I have a question that I would have never thought to ask until I had a problem placing an order thru Adobe`s online store.

I live in Japan. I have a Mac Pro that was purchased here in Japan from Apple. I am looking to purchase Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and LightRoom 3.

Long story short, Adobe told me on the phone just before that because my computer was purchased in Japan, that the software user interface or something of that nature is different than say a Mac Pro purchased in the USA.

So if I order the above mentioned Adobe products from the USA and have them shipped to me in Japan, they will NOT work on my computer. I find this incredibly hard to believe. But perhaps I am mistaken.

They also made reference to their software being ip based - so when the time comes to register your software, it will be able to detect that you are located in a different country than the purchase country, thereby not allowing the software to operate.

Does anyone have any direct experience with my circumstance? I certainly don`t want to go thru the hassle of buying these 2 programs and having them mailed to me only for them to not work and have to mail them back.
