Photoshop works absolutely fine on my 6-7 year old HP Probook i5. But on my latest MBP 2017, it seems like PS is too heavy for it. I am a very beginner level user of PS so I haven't even gotten into any advanced options yet. I am having following issues.

1) Fan speeds up and machine starts getting warm the moment I start PS. Is this normal for 13" 2017?
2) The 'Export' option doesn't show anything. It seems like a bug or something. Check screenshot.

Is something wrong with the PS version I have or is something wrong with my new MBP?
Solutions, please?

No, not usual. I have a few labs of 2013 iMacs (dual core i5), and dozens of student with various MBPs at work, and no issues with Photoshop. Been running it from CC (2014) to 2018.

You might open Activity Monitor in Utilities and see what is the CPU hog.
