I am using a 2011 Macbook Pro with a OCZ Vertex 3 SSD installed.

Lion is installed.

It seems that Photoshop CS 5.1 will randomly freeze.. almost always while I am painting / using the brush tool. The cursor will just "beach ball" and give me 100% CPU utilization.

Is anyone else having issues like this?

Yes same here. I upgraded twice full install lions and clean install. Ps5 freezing or hanging and tripping out after using it a while in brush modes. Copy stamp, healing brushes.

Did you ever figure problem out?

I downgraded back to Snow Lepoard. So far no issues.

I had all the latest updates from Adobe. I think it's an Apple issue more then anything.

Adobe products? Freezing? Not surprised at all.

I myself haven't had issues with CS5 and Lion but Adobe has a far from stellar track record for app performance.

Also are you using a Wacom? Some people have had performance issues with a Wacom tablet in Lion.

I do have Wacom tablet as well. When issue happened I thought was mouse problem so I replaced batteries in wireless USB mouse, same, then replaced it with hard wired mouse, same issue, disconnected Wacom same. Reinstalled clean lion osx, same prob.

So now am back Snow Lepoard. Seems to be working smooth again. Disappointed in apple on this. Adobe products such big reason people use Mac. Well see what releases come out addressing the problems lion has.

I'm not experiencing any issues with PS 5.1. I'm on Lion with an intel 320 SSD and 8 GB of ram.
