I've been having some problems downloading pdf files with Safari recently. A few weeks ago I decided (for some unknown reason) to install Adobe Reader 7.0. Nice program but it started to open pdf files in my safari browser when it downloaded then. I hate it when that happens so I figured I'd just remove Adobe Reader again to solve the problem as it has no added value to Preview anyway. Now when I download a pdf file I get a window opening asking me to select Adobe software that will open the file. How can I get things back to normal again? I want this adobe stuff to disappear from my system!

To set the default PDF viewer back to the Preview application, CTRL-click on a PDF file, choose 'Open With -> Other', pick Preview from the list, and check the 'Always open with' checkbox.
