Impatient as I am I looked around the Adobe ftp server to see if Adobe Reader X is available yet. It is: Look under
Code:
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/10.x/
for the Mac OS X version, and under
Code:
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/
for the Windows version. Or just wait for it to hit the website.

Yes, it uses a bit much space for a PDF reader...

Native UI elements? Who uses native UI elements? Not Adobe.

If the scrollbar goes underneath the toolbar I'm pretty sure you are doing it wrong.

It is no great surprise as it does fit with the CS4/5 style UI. That was when Adobe stopped caring about native UIs for a platform and started moving everyone over the Adobe land.

I feel sorry for the people who require this for one or two features not in Preview.

Preview can handle PDFs just fine, in my opinion. Is there a reason why anyone would need Adobe Reader for Mac? Just curious.

I think there are some enterprise things that Reader can do that Preview can't.
