Anyone try Adobe Premiere Rush yet? I've been playing around with it a little. I have to say it is very impressive, especially the performance. I think I'd use this over iMovie just about any day.

I know it is a different class of application, but what really stands out to me is how much smoother it feels than FCP. You can give Final Cut some 1080p footage, simple color correction, basic animated titles, a few transitions, and its dropping frames. Rush is just cruising along, no complaints...

There are a few of shortcomings in Rush, don't get me wrong (I'd like some scopes or at the very least a histogram for color correction), but speed isn't one of them.

I played around with it, brought in various types of footage I have shot over the years, and while it isn't a bad editor it certainly isn't anything special. If you own iMovie it's just as well to use that over this, especially given that iMovie isn't going to cost anything extra.

I've been using the Creative Cloud for years so I don't mind paying for a subscription, but this one is not included with my current Photography Plan and requires a separate commitment that'd be more hassle than it's worth to try and add.

It has the beginnings of something great but I can see this being something Adobe kill off in a few short years, because the audience they are trying to reach with it is broad and I just cannot see full on professional Video Editors leaving larger, more robust editors to use this, and I cannot see the average consumer, or even prosumer for that matter wanting to pay a subscription for an application like this when there are better, more cost effective options out there.
