Anyone else noticed ads in the News app? From what I can tell, ads are not from my news feed but integrated into News app itself.

Why are they there? Is Apple paying news sources a share of the ad revenue?

Not sure if they are sharing but they will have ad's in the application. Not too many so far and they are obvious but there.

If publishers sell their own advertisements, they keep 100% of the revenue generated. If content producers choose to allow Apple/iAd to sell ads for them, they retain 70% of the revenue. Publishers can also earn revenue from ads sold by iAd that appear in Apple-curated topic feeds, like Fashion or Technology, or in this case "For You".
