ADS Technologies PYRO A/V LINK

Hey I am looking into the ADS Technologies PYRO A/V LINK to record gameplay onto my Apple Macbook from my xbox 360. I would like to be able to record while still using the tv, instead of the computer screen, and to maintain hd quality on my tv (I know the recorded files will be downgraded). Is this a good choice for doing so?
