Right,

I moved to China and am trying to get my Airport Express to act as the wireless router for the ADSL modem. Firstly, is this possible?

We connect over PPPoE. I have no idea if this affects anything, as I have no experience with PPPoE. Can anybody give me any hints as to how to start this process?

I'm lost, and in Beijing, and goddamnit if anybody here could help me.

thanks,

Christopher

The AirPort will not act as a wired router like a Linksys Wireless 4-port router will, but the APE will act as a router with any computer that has wireless capabilities. You just won't be able to connect more than 1 computer with a wired connection. There is a section in the software to connect using PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) and it should work fine. I would also make sure that you secure your network and make it so that the neighbor next door can't get into your computer, or get on the internet using your base station. Both are easily done. Also, don't forget to change the password for the base station to something hard to guess, but something you'll remember.
