I really want to enable Advanced Data Protection in my iCloud account, but amongst my many devices I have a 2013 Mac Pro, which cannot be upgraded to Ventura. I know a solution is to remove the Mac Pro from my iCloud, create a new AppleID and use his new ID to log into iCloud on my Mac Pro. I know this means I won’t be able to see the iCloud contact, calendar, files etc., basically anything that I have in my iCloud…
But, can I make that new AppleID a part of the family, and share some of this data from my main account? I know in effect it would circumvent some of the benefits of Advanced Data Protection, but TBH I don’t care if anyone can see my calendar and contacts. What I really want is access to apps etc., that I have purchased through the App Store.
Can you still use an AppleID for logging into App Store on an old Mac, even if that AppleID/iCloud has Advanced Data Protection turned on?
I am a bit afraid of removing my Mac Pro from my iCloud/AppleID and then finding that I can’t do any of these things…
