Hi there,
I would like to activate Advanced Data Protection outside the US before it's officially rolled out. Anyone had any luck as of yet?

I imagine either a change of region in the Apple ID, a VPN or something else should do the trick.

I think it has something to do with the region your iCloud is in, which is related to the region your Apple ID is set to. you can try changing your Apple ID region on the Apple website.

But to be honest, that feature is long overdue, even initially offered as a basic feature, they should never have retained access to user files.

I would wait till it’s out in your region, you can’t keep changing your Apple ID region and if you do you’re loose all your purchases from your current region and require a US payment source.

I am in Germany, but my AppleID has always been from the US and it works fine without VPN or anything, so yes, it works as long as your iCloud region is US
Which probably means that the data would be moved the the US...
I was thinking of doing that but my data is probably safer with GDPR
