I'm trying to set my iPhone up to receive/send email from my Verizon account. Every time I try to add the POP account, my iphone insists on trying to use SSL to set it up.

Is there some advanced setting I can access to turn of the "Use SSL" setting?

yeah, go to prefs- mail- advanced- scottish cold cut serving settings- hagus/mcHagus, there should be a "disable SSL" option.

I don't see an Advanced settings option when I'm in Settings for Mail on my iPhone. Can someone tell me where the Advanced settings for Mail are?

Wow, if ever there was a time to RTFM, this is it! But in an effort to point you in the right direction:

1. From the iPhone's Home Screen, touch the Settings icon.
2. Scroll down and touch Mail.
3. Choose the email address you wish to edit by touching it.
4. Scroll to the very bottom and touch Advance.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I was looking for Advanced while setting the email account up. I didn't realize I had to go back to mail afterwards to access it.

I ended up setting my verizon account up by turning off SSL.
Is there a way around doing that?
