ADVC-300 on Mac Mini?

Hey,
I got some old VHS tapes I want to convert to digital format.
I heard ADVC-300 can do the job well.

I see it has a OHCI FireWire connection.
Will I be able to connect it to my Mac Mini? I got the latest Mac Mini version.

Yes, as that Mac Mini also has Firewire 800. You might need a FW 9-pin to 6-pin or FW 9-pin to 4-pin cable for it to work.

Although that Canopus is from a reputable vendor (Grass Valley now), maybe also have a look here: http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/products/Video-Capture/product1.en.html
