Advice about DVR's

Don't step into the kawoosh...
I will be moving into an apartment for college and i am looking at some of the things i will need. I have been calling around and getting prices. I think i will be going with W.O.W internet, phone, and cable TV.

I think i am going to go with there HDTV service + DVR. But i was wondering if i should get something like an EyeTv 500 instead of there DVR. From what i can see the main benifit of the EyeTv is that it will still work when i stop using WOW cable.

If anyone can give me some info on WOW service that would be great.
