I used a legacy Mac Book Pro 17'' as an iTunes media server, connected to USB storage. I was using a Sonar express 34 card to present two USB 3 ports, that connected to some big USB disk storage. This worked fantastic until El Capitan where the USB stack was altered and the sonar card no longer worked.
I'm told by Sonar that there is a new version of the card with an updated chipset that does work with the El Capitan release, however the model/serial number are identical, so there is no way to tell from a retailer if you will get the one that works, or the one that doesn't.
I'm not comfortable with this.
So I thought I'd throw out a recommendation/advice request for a express 34 card with 1, or 2 USB3 ports on that will work with El Capitan.
thanks.
