Hey, guys.
I bought my new 15 inch MacBook Pro 2017 (Radeon Pro 560) on June 1. I know it's a bad time and how stupid I was.
But the thing is that I was struggling for a long time, and I couldn't bear with my old MBA's screen, so I kind of bought the 2017 model on an impulse.
Now the problem, I am wondering if there is a that much big difference between the new model with mine? Or am I just supposed to keep it and replace it until the next big update?
Thanks a lot:):):)

Depends if you need the extra processing power/32GB RAM that the 2018 version can be optioned with. What do you use it for? If you were using a MBA prior to it I’m guessing nothing too intensive?

Differences:
3rd Generation butterfly keyboard which may help keep debris out of the keyboard and reduce failure
Hex core processors (instead of quad core)
Slight improved GPU.

Or am I just supposed to keep it and replace it until the next big update?
Since you're out of the 14 day window that's all you can do, or sell it and buy the 18. Another long shot is to ask if you can still return it, so you can buy the 18. Some apple store managers may allow this, but its very rare.

Thanks for your reply.
To be honest, I'm doing my graduation research and my major using of this machine is just to run slight machine learning task (something that can be completed within 1 hr). If there's a need for running deep learning training model, I can use the server in my lab, which is equipped with decent GPUs.
I am satisfied with this 2017 model, and thanks to my good habit of using computers, there may not be the worry of the keyboard failure problem. However, I'm not sure if there is a need for like running 2 or more virtual machines at a time in the future, so well, for now, my usage is not intensive.

Thanks for replying.
Things like there is no need for the RAM of 32GB currently, but how about the hex core CPU? I mean, in terms of the result from the benchmark, there's a relatively huge boost compared to that of 16 vs 17.
So admittedly, to some extent it's the problem of mind peace.

I am in Japan, and have no idea of how the manager will response, may be it is unlikely to return this almost 2 months-used.But still thanks for the advice, probably have a try.

For multithreaded processes, yes, I 'd say it provide a very good boost. My 2018 MBP is faster then my iMac, and while my iMac isn't brand new, its still surprising i guess.

It can't hurt to try - nothing ventured, nothing gained :)
