Ok so i'm getting a new ipod touch this weekend and i want to jailbreak it.But i've been researching it and there is so may choices. So what im asking is what should i do as soon as i get it in terms of syncing with my computer? what program should i use? and could someone link me a good video guide on it please and thanks .

Wirelessly posted (Ipod touch 4g 4.2.1: Mozilla/5.0 (Sonny Bro!; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Personally i used greenpois0n to jailbreak my ipod 4g, i havent used any other program though. One advantage of jailbreaking with greenpois0n is that you can have a custom boot logo :D greenpois0n is VERY fast and easy. If you google it, im sure you'll find a good tutorial :p

This may seem like a stupid question -- but what's the advantage of 'jailbreaking'? Disadvantage?
Not a dumb question at all!
If you jailbreak, you can install apps, themes, and tweaks that Apple didnt apple into the app store, you can do some plist edits to enable features. But it voids your warranty, although a restore pretty much fixes that.

You tube has several good videos of jailbreaking with greenpois0n.
