Advice Macbook Pro

Hey all,

I was looking at this particular model I know it's old hardware but I only need the computer for basic use word, internet, and some HD playback etc.

The model number of this model is: MA610LL/A. How would this system with 3 GB of ram run on OS X Maverics??? And was this a good laptop back then?

It won't run Mavericks. The most current OS it can run is Lion, 10.7.5.

Just curious, why are you going for a 7 year old laptop?

I'd try to shoot for an aluminum unibody or newer, just due to 8600 GT card failures. And I think anything unibody supports Mavericks too.
