Hey all,

I've been watching this section for a while. I'm moving in december and I can finally set it up with all the smart home tech.

Thermostats- Ecobee 3

Front door Lock- August Smart Home Lock and Connect

Doorbell- Ring video doorbell Pro (Really wanted a HomeKit enabled one)

Flood light- Ring floodlight cam (unless i find a better HomeKit enabled)

Router- Really have no idea about which are better than others to cover 2800 sq ft house. We have at least 50 connected devices going now before the new devices are in. Also wanted to get the homekit enabled but don't see any out there.

Thanks for your advice

Netatmo is supposedly coming out with a doorbell this fall that will be HomeKit Secure video enabled. Robin Proline has one now but it’s very pricey.

As for the flood light, you can get a regular flood light and set it up to a smart switch and add a HomeKit camera like the Logitech Circle 2 and have the motion sensor on the camera activate the flood lights. Those Logitech Cameras are superb and will support HomeKit secure video. Hue also makes nice flood lights. Netatmo also makes floodlight cams for HomeKit. If you’re going for a HomeKit house, try to get everything HomeKit so you can integrate all the scenes and automations and not have to use multiple apps. I currently have a Ring Doorbell and Ring floodlight but I’m in the middle of a move and those are staying behind as part of the sale of the house.

Highly recommend Eero Pro mesh for a router which is supposed to have that HomeKit Routers feature enabled. Just waiting for the firmware update.
