I'm looking for a 2nd Display to use with my Mac Pro when I get it in Jan/Feb. My main display is a 23" ACD but I need another one for basic stuff like email/web development previewing, etc.

I am looking at the following but can't decide between them. Can anyone give some advice?

1. Hyundai N240Wd

2. Dell S2309W

3. Samsung SM-2343BW

Which one would you go for or can you suggest something else in the same price range?

Whatever you choose, don't go for the Dell. That monitor has a special resolution (full HD, 1920x1080 instead of 1920x1200 standard HD) and there are problems with some people using them. I would pick the Samsung since I only trust LG, Samsung, Dell, and Apple for displays. That Hyundai seems ... dodgy to me. Not to be brand-racist of anything lol.

Thanks, do you think I'd have problems with the perculia resolution of the Samsung?

Lolwut?

A vote for Samsung from me, they make great TVs, so their displays can't be too far behind... I have a 22" Samsung HDTV that I use as a monitor, it's great, very vivid colours.

1920x1080 is the standard "1080" HD resolution for 16:9 images. 1920x1200 has never ever been a standard "HD" resolution as it is 16:10. I for one wish that 16:10 would die and leave 16:9 for everything.

24' LED Cinema Display :)....ok i know, nowhere near your price range...um I'd go with the Samsung if I were to choose between those 3.

lol yeah, I wish I could afford that...I probably could by the time I get my Mac Pro but then the current Mac Pro won't work with the LED Cinema Display. Plus as I already have a 23" ACD, I don't need a high quality secondary display

Sorry, I meant the other, regular Dell displays like the Ultrasharp, etc. Just not that particular display. Sorry for the mishap, I clearly wasn't thinking.

Yea, I totally agree. I was in the same situation a few months ago. I either could buy that same model Dell or a Samsung at my local Costco. I chose Samsung since it looked better and was standard for computers, not 16:9 for HDTVs. That is what I meant by standard; not for HDTVs but for computer displays.
