Hi All,

I am in the UK and was originally offered a (now older!) 15" 2.4GB Unibody MBP replacement from Apple (£1349) for a older 2.2 model. I do not know if I will still get that particular one as they have now come out with newer ones with the base 15" 2.53 MBP model (£1299).

Apple have offered me an upgrade to a new basic 17" model (which I would not mind!) at an extra cost of £480 if I wish. I would like to know if it is a good deal? Maybe I am missing something or was just expecting better but it does not "feel" like a particularly great deal as it pretty much works out the same as a full price of £1899 for the new 17" MBP!!! - (£1299/1349 + £480 = £1779/£1829)

I have read a few 15" owners have been given a 17" replacement without any extra cost (not that I was expecting such luck!) but thought they would at least be a little more generous than that seeing as one can buy a new one cheaper via duty free (£1614)!!! What do you all think - am I missing something or being too cheap or optimistic? What would you all do and how would you suggest I approach the matter?

Many Thanks!

Bazzy!
