Advice needed on borked iphone 7 set up

Hi all,

I got my first iphone ever today (android till now). After initial set up, itunes told me i need an update (10.0.1). After install, the phone restarted itself. Upon restart, I was given a message: Attempting data recovery. This took about 2 hours. Now the phone seems to be running fine and the software is updated to 10.0.1.

My question is: should I do a factory reset to start fresh in case the recovery process left any files corrupted?
