Advice needed re configuration of new MBP 17 2.93

I already have an X25-E so I've decided to put that in to save money and get the 8GB RAM instead (unless someone has good advice about going another way). I'm wondering whether OWC's 8GB kit is a viable option. TIA for any advice you can give.
