Hi!

I am looking for a replacement of my PowerMac G5 Dual (2.3GHz, 3GB RAM, ATI 9650 video) - mainly for using Aperture. I am not very happy with the performance of the machine, there are no upgrade paths for the graphics card any more, and I really dislike its noise and power consumption.

So, I narrowed it down to 3 options:

A) Refurbished (white) iMac, 2.16GHz, with 3GB RAM - would also connect my (existing) 20" ACD
Cheapest option, however RAM expansion is fairly limited...

B) New (glossy) iMac, 2.4GHz, 20inch, with 4GB RAM - would connect my 20" ACD too.
Could be nice (dual monitor setup), but I heard about serious issues with Aperture and the GPU is not the best...

C) Refurbished MacPro 2x2.0GHz, with 4-5GB RAM and Nvidia 7300 video card or even ATI 1900XT?
Most expensive option, however with good expandability (RAM/HDD) - however is it really that faster than my 2.3GHz G5?

My main application is Aperture (not very much Photoshop) - I have 20.000 photos, rapidly growing, mostly JPEG. I'm spending hours with this app, but I'm not a pro, i.e. not earning money with it (so my budget is, of course, limited).

Thanks for comments!
