I have a 2009 MBP 2,26 4GB Ram + a White 2009 2,4 Macbook with 4GB. Both run OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard very happily, however..

I am debating whether to upgrade to Mountain Lion (not Mavericks as some 3rd party applications wont be supported) because going forward, am unsure whether Apple will still support security updates (for OSX 10.6.8) or is this not something worth worrying about? If they have stopped, how does that translate into a real world increased risk using my machines online if at all or can i continue using 10.6.8 until the end of time as am happy with all the software versions i use :) ? Any advice or opinions appreciated.
