I am planning on buying the base 2018 13 inch TB MacBook Pro in a week or so. I am mainly going to be using it for uni work but am also for playing World of Warcraft. I wonder if it could infact become my main computer, replacing my desktop PC at the same time. My current PC is 4/5 years old and has the following spec

Intel Core i5 6400
8GB Ram
1tb 5400 rpm HD
1070 GTX

Apart from the graphics card which is amazing the rest of the PC is so slow. Would the specs of the new Pro be superior to what my desktop are (Apart from the 1070 GTX). I mainly play World of Warcraft so am hoping the Pro can at least handle that. Im also planning on purchasing a eGPU and selling the 1070 and buying a compatible ATi card. Would doing that make the Pro a realistic desktop replacement?

The hardware spec of the new MacBook is slower than that desktop. It is slightly slower on the CPU side and MASSIVELY slower on the GPU side. And there isn't an AMD graphics card you can buy that is faster than the 1070.

All you need to do is move the desktop system onto a good SSD and overclock the CPU if you know how, and you've got yourself a med-high-end gaming PC even for today's standard.

Ok thanks for the advice, I wont be getting rid of my main PC then, will just sort out a SSD. I will have the MacBook Pro as my work/portable system and keep my PC as my main gaming rig.

Im sure this has been asked before but will the new Pro at least be able to handle World of Warcraft on low settings, i dont intend to do raiding or anything major intensive, just PVE and questing etc, will the Pro be able to handle this? Also i take it will be able to run Football Manger 2018/19 without any issues?

It will handle it for some casual gaming but you should just stick to your PC if you want decent framerates with higher detail levels.
