Hello everyone,

I am strongly thinking about getting a second HomePod in order to upgrade my (Apple)TV experience. I live in condo apartment and would like to position one HomePod next to the TV with the other one close to couch.

I have attached a floor plan of my apartment and highlighted the desired HomePod positions with a red circle. The living/dining room is 28sqm large. Both HomePods would be approx. 4m apart.

I could place both HomePods on either side of the TV (they would be approx. 1,5m apart), however, I am wondering if that would give me the best audio experience.

What do you guys think? Do some of you have a similar front/back setup? Is that generally an advisable setup?

Regards,

It really is up to you and your preferences, but to me it seems counterintuitive to have a stereo pair with one positioned behind you.

For music that sound stage would be very strange to my ears and I think both HomePods in front of you would be much better. However 1.5m isn't ideal for separation (min. 2.25m is better) but with HomePod, I suspect you'd get away with it.

For use as a computer-enhanced Atmos surround sound, I wouldn't know, but the centre channel (quite often used for dialogue) would again, in my view, probably sound weird with one output behind you.

Experiment a little and decide what your preference is.
